Fassbender may have got the Jobs
Rumours are circulating that Michael Fassbender will replace Christian Bale for the role of Steve Jobs in the upcoming Danny Boyle biopic.
Bale supposedly parted ways with the film this week, and Sony are keen to replace the actor promptly. Fassbender is the latest actor to be associated with the part after Leonardo DiCaprio also passed on the role of the late Apple founder.
It appears that it is not just actors separating themselves from the film as original director David Fincher previously abandoned the project and has since been taken over by Danny Boyle. The biopic will be adapted for the silver screen from the bestselling book Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography by Walter Isaacson.
Sony Pictures are eager to start production this Winter with Seth Rogen reportedly portraying Jobs’ Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak whilst Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady produce.
Steve Jobs passed away in 2011 from cancer aged 56, and Sony acquired the rights to the film shortly after his death. A previous biopic on Jobs was released last year to negative reviews that saw Ashton Kutcher in the title role.
